Learning a new language is a very rewarding challenge. I was fortunate to grow up speaking Spanish and English but in the sixth grade I decided to take French. I developed a love for learning languages that led me to also learn conversational Portuguese and Swahili. I attended UNC Chapel Hill (Go HEELS!) where I studied Spanish and French Literature and earned my B.A. in both areas. I also have my M.A. in School Administration that I earned at Queens University of Charlotte.

I am a NC certified teacher of Spanish and French and have been given the "Highly Qualified" add on to my certification. I have been teaching Spanish for over 25 years and have experience teaching all levels (1-5), including Language B for the International Baccalaureate Program as well as Advanced Placement (AP) Spanish and Spanish for Native speakers (SNS). I take pride in the fact that I am able to easily assess an individual's needs and customize the instruction to maximize time and learning.

I believe that learning a foreign language is one of the best things that you can do, not only for your personal development, but also to improve global communication and build bridges between groups of people and cultures.
